![]() ![]() Overall: Another truly fine rum that stands on its own without any need to mix it. The world’s most awarded From cocktails to sipping, from dancing to cheering, there’s BACARDÍ® rum for every occasion. A perfect rum for the transition between summer and autumn. Very, very easy to drink and lovely in a rum old-fashioned, or just straight with a large single cube of ice.įinish: It goes on for a good long while with a lot more of the wood and spice character coming through. Taste: Immediate berry fruit flavor that leads into cinnamon, then caramel corn, and finishing with a touch of toasted vanilla bean. Nose: Raspberry, blackberry, baking spice, and vanilla. But, to truly appreciate, you should just sip neat at room temperature. I hesitate to recommend this in a highball, but it will shine in a Daiquiri. ![]() Overall: An amazing rum that is well worth adding to your collection. Description: Upon opening the bottle, the aroma of this rum is immediately noticeable, with rich and complex scents of vanilla. ![]() The lime nose that I detected comes through here in the flavor towards the end, making the whole effect quite refreshing and yet rich.įinish: Medium long with a slight warming ginger root tang on the back of the palate. Sweet, but also tempered with a slightly grassy and bitter edge. This tastes like it’s been distilled only twice, leaving a lot of the character of the cane molasses intact. Part of Bacardis Facundo Collection, named after founder Don Facundo Bacardi Masso, Eximo (meaning to be free) is a blend of rums vatted prior to ageing in. Taste: Viscous mouthfeel with a depth unlike any rum I’ve come across. Nose: Tropical notes with a heady dose of fresh lime, spun sugar candy, marshmallow, and even a hint of black licorice. Eximo is interesting in that is was blended from unaged and young aged rums, and then aged again for ten years. Neo is a blend of rums aged between one to eight years and then filtered to remove all traces of coloration. These remarkable rums have been perfected by Bacardis master distillers. There are four expressions available, two of which were sent to the GSN offices for review at this time. Introducing the Facundo range, a collection of Bacardis finest rums to date. It is his given name that is used in tribute to this latest collection of rare limited release sipping rums. "A very smooth and mellow rum, well infused with the flavours of American oak.The Bacardi company has been crafting fine rums since 1862 when it was founded by Don Facundo Bacardi Massó. The finish is a little roasted and leaves a little blond tobacco smoke. This roundness inhibits the fuller aspects of the wood and spices, leaving only the sweetness of vanilla and coconut milk. ![]() The palate is as charming as the nose, with an extremely smooth and velvety entry. A little bit of marzipan completes the picture and fixes this greedy character, despite a little return of roasted coffee. The American oak unfolds all its greediness made of coconut, vanilla, tobacco and soft wood. With a little air, the rum takes on a fuller body and roundness. The toasted oak gives off some coconut scents that become increasingly roasted, until they touch on coffee. The nose is both light and caramelised, with familiar notes of vanilla, toasted wood and toasted spices. This perilous exercise requires the expertise of a great Maestro Ronero. Indeed, the rums of this cuvée have been blended before ageing. The name Eximo ("free") is linked to a particularity that makes it unique. It is a blend of rums aged for 10 years in oak barrels. Facundo Eximo is the first in a series of exceptional aged rums created in tribute to the founder of one of the greatest rum houses: Don Facundo Bacardi. ![]()
